Any rumors yet on possible dates for WWDC this year, and when they'll open registration?

Since WWDC was pre-announced and then sold out in less than 2 minutes last year, but that Apple appears to have instead used a lottery system for the last set of Tech Talks, what are the guesses for this year's registration method?

I think they'll use a ouija board to communicate with Steve's ghost. The ghost will give them a date, which will be some time in June.

In attempting to get an answer from Steve's ghost about how to sell tickets, the message will become garbled and be translated as something involving hamsters. A skunk-works engineering team headed by Bob Mansfield[1] will then construct a lottery-like system that uses an array of iPhone cameras, two MacBook Pros, and a new Mac Pro placed horizontally between them with an axle running through the middle, in the manner of an exercise wheel. The hamsters will need a specific coat color: all black, with white head and forelegs. This will make them look like they're wearing black turtlenecks.

That's my prediction, and I'm sticking with it. However, I might change "hamsters" to "gerbils"[2]. I'll have to consult my ouija-rumors board, and my pineal gland.

[1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Mansfield
"It was subsequently confirmed by Apple that Mansfield was no longer a part of the executive team, but would "continue to work on special projects under CEO Tim Cook."[7]"

[2] Or possibly kangaroo rats. But definitely not guinea pigs. That would be far too silly.

If it's June, then it's got to be gerbils. So why are you guessing June this year?

WWDC 2007 took place from June 11 to 15
WWDC 2008 took place from June 9 to 13
WWDC 2009 took place from June 8 to 12
WWDC 2010 took place from June 7 to 11
WWDC 2011 took place from June 6 to 10
WWDC 2012 took place from June 11 to 15
WWDC 2013 took place from June 10 to 14

WWDC 2007 took place from June 11 to 15
WWDC 2008 took place from June 9 to 13
WWDC 2009 took place from June 8 to 12
WWDC 2010 took place from June 7 to 11
WWDC 2011 took place from June 6 to 10
WWDC 2012 took place from June 11 to 15
WWDC 2013 took place from June 10 to 14

So it's pretty safe to assume WWDC '14 is gonna take place from September 21 to 25

Didn't MacRumors post several years ago some classified documents from Apple that were leaked and contained Apple's reservations for WWDC going out to 2015?

Based on the dates luckydcxx shared though, it looks like it always starts on a Monday between the 6th and 11th of June (whether they would pick the 5th or 12th of June to start it remains to be seen - we won't know until 2017. Unless... was there a WWDC in June of 2000? Which days was that on?)

Here's some more dates I found on Wikipedia:
2003: June 23 - 27
2004: June 28 - July 2
2005: June 6 - 10
2006: August 7 - 11

The first WWDC was in 1995 and from that time up through 2002 it was held in May. 2003-2005 it was in June. In 2006 it was in August on account of scheduling conflicts at the Moscow Center, which may be why Apple ended up booking specific weeks years in advance.

So last year, Apple announced WWDC around the 3rd week of April. But the suspect date for WWDC is earlier the year, so maybe the announcement will be earlier as well?

Apple announced WWDC last year more than a day before it sold out. It sold out in less than 2 minutes from the time they opened the store the next day.

About Dates

Well Guys, it's clear that the WWDC will not happen in another month than June. After all, June is the official launch of major products and services Apple since 2007. So, i think that the best ask is: which day ?

Wana see...:

Try to ask Siri about WWDC, for example:

"SIRI WHEN WILL HAPPEN WWDC ?"

Her answer is:

Jun 2, 2014 to Jun 6, 2014....

See ? That's the problem... for here in Brazil We already buy boarding pass to fly to go to San Francisco JUN 5 (Because every year happen on JUN 6 to 14)...

Thats the problem!!!

As I posted on a different thread:

I don't think it's going to be between 9-13th.. look at the Moscone calendar.

"6/13/14 - 06/17/14 American Diabetes Association 74th Scientific Sessions Moscone North, South and West "

Apple use Moscone West - therefore it can't be 9-13th as there's another event starting on 13th. Not only that but surely there would be a couple of days between events to take down/put up all the boards etc.

The only dates it can be during June is 2nd (with 1st as setup day) - 6th. This also lines up with the leaked 'provisional' dates a few years back - and most of the dates have been correct since.

You are correct, but ....

Sincerely, I hope that don't start on June 2...As I said, our flying to San Francisco already booked. :(:(:(:(:(

And only one question, as you can see the Moscone Calendar, look that 1 June until 5 June has booked, but not 6 June until 12:

06/01/14 - 06/05/14
Design Automation Conference Moscone South & Esplanade Ballroom Convention / Tradeshow

06/13/14 - 06/17/14
American Diabetes Association 74th Scientific Sessions Moscone North, South and West Convention / Tradeshow

06/24/14 - 06/26/14
California Building Industry Association PCBC Moscone North and Gateway Ballroom Tradeshow

06/24/14 - 06/26/14 Google I/O 2014 Moscone West Meeting

Apple normally books it under a weird name if I recall correctly. Design automation sounds like it could be it.

Let's See My friend, I hop that God listen us !!

Whether or not God listens (or exists) doesn't matter - Apple has already picked a date that is unknown to you (and me).

If you're off by a week with your tickets, I think most airlines will let you change them without extra charge if you're months in advance like you are.

Yes Could be...

Yes, Could be... Here in Brazil almost always is necessary pay extra charge.

Lets see...

The problem will be wait Apple to do announcements about the date.

The event booked for the first week in June is actually for Moscone South. Apple use Moscone West so there is no reason these events cannot occur simultaneously.

Additionally, a quick google would bring up the fact the "Design Automation Conference" is an actual event not some bogus placeholder for Apple.

There is no other full week in June that Apple could use Moscone West apart from the first week.

yes..

Yes you are correct! More about Design Automation, you can see here (http://dac.com). Apple uses Moscone West, I think that isn't a rule because
Moscow South is already used by Apple before.

About booked date on Moscone website, is possible to know that are only exists a one period free: 6 to 10 because traditionally the Moscone doesn't promote simultaneous events in Complex.

Ok, so here are the facts:

1) Apple uses Moscone West, not South.

2) You state "Moscone doesn't promote simultaneous events in Complex" and go on to post:
"06/24/14 - 06/26/14 BUSY

06/24/14 - 06/26/14 BUSY"

Two events that are held simultaneously. One being Google I/O. They can certainly hold events simultaneously.

3) WWDC lasts a week. Booked through from setup on Sunday to Friday. Look at the calendar for June. 6th is a Friday, 10th is a Tuesday. So, that's not happening.

It's not hard to see the only week in June (that's assuming it's not late May or even July.. who knows..) that the WWDC can take place in the Moscone center is the first week.

Ok...

Ok Betaguy.

About due dates, I had a type mistake, sorry.

Looking for your point, I Think that you're correct.

Thanks for your wonderful opinions.
