I won this year! For those who didn't win, I want to let you know that I didn't win the past two years, but I won this year! Just make sure you apply again next year and never give up even when shoots you down. For those who won, I know that you put in your all in your application, but make sure to stay humble for those who didn't win this year.

So what is everyone doing in terms of accommodation? I had a quick look on Airbnb and at some hotels but nothing stood out as an obvious best option.

I'm from Germany, too. Apple sais in the Guidelines: "Travel and accommodation expenses may be covered by Apple at Apples sole discretion". I really hope they cover these things, because I'm not sure if I can attend if it doesn't work out, and I wrote them a mail. I will update you here when I get an email back.
Yes hope they cover that, but I will come anyway. Where exactly are you from. I live near Freiburg.

Another german guy here! I live in Frankfurt, actually. Wrote them an email regarding travel and accommodation expenses yesterday, too. I'll let you guys know when I hear something back. Maybe we can coordinate to get on the same flight and stuff when we've got more information on how this works. ##
