Starting on my app today. Writing it completely in Swift. Good luck to you all!

I've had a look at the thread, but I was just wondering what your opinions are (how creative/complex would the app have to be to have a chance?)

Also, does anyone know for certain whether purely supporting iPhone would be sufficient?

I'm only supporting iPad,in that way you have more content.
And if you're making for iPhone it will have to work on 4 screen types,I recommend making it for iPad only.

Yes, I wanted to do just iPad too.

Forgive me for my ignorance, but I was wondering how the judges would know either to use an iPad or iPhone when testing our application?

This seems like a stupid questions, but when you consider that they will be going through all the applications quite quickly, they probably won't be stopping to check the format of each app.

Thanks in advance

I think they'll take time to check all that out.
Apple actually cares about this, and probably has a team for this.
So,I think we don't need to worry about all this.

Unless they have changed it since last year without mentioning it, it should be absolutely fine to do iPhone/iPad only. Mine is iPhone only.

Hey everyone!

I'm so excited about making this app! Hopefully it'll come along pretty nicely. It's for iPad only at the moment. :)

Anyway, I truly hope I won't have to develop it for iPhone (it's gonna take a while fixing all those constraints and stuff). Even though that would be a huge plus, I think.

Is Apple really going to pay travel expenses to every student? That would be really nice!

It's gonna be an exciting week for sure :). Good luck to all!

Have you guys completed your apps?
I haven't yet, i don't think it would be good either.
If any of you guys have finished your apps feel free to put pictures or videos of it. Obviously no one can start copying your ideas cause its too late :D
Hope we all get approved!

7 days it's fairly enough time to implement a key feature from someone else's app. I would suggest to wait till the end of the submission period, before sharing our apps.

Can't wait to see what you guys built :)

I agree! A part of me would actually love to share my progress so far for feedback, but keeping it a secret feels way safer atm.

Hi everyone by the way, first time poster!

I'm just starting on my app (late, I know), if we are making an iPhone app, do we need to support all 4 screen sizes or can we just support 1?

For about 4 years now. I have quite a lot of apps on the AppStore, the majority are for clients. What about you? :)

wow... that is very impressive!
Im pretty new to iOS development but i started OOP since i was 10 with C#.
I've been coding for iOS for about a year and half :-D
Can you provide links to your apps so i could see em?

I'm not sure I'm allowed to do that though. If not, I apologize in advance. sebastiandobrincu.com :D

That website is really nice! And the apps you made are fabulous! Well done!

I'm so nervous but excited at the same time. Yeah I agree it's kinda early to share our creations. :)
