I am running X-Chat on OS X and it seems to be really Memory/Processor intensive and will lag some time.. Has anyone else see this?

Are you running 10.4.3?
Did you turn on iChat encryption when you updated? I did that and noticed considerable lag. Turned encryption off and things went back to normal.

X-chat isn't the same as iChat. :)

X-chat on OSX is a kinda crappy progam. I've noticed a couple bugs but the author swears they aren't there. it sometimes does arbitrarily hog CPU usage, but it always goes back to normal for me.

Are you kidding? X-chat only takes 0.40% on my computer and 30mbytes of physical memory. I have been using x-chat for over a year now, and I think it's the best chat application there is for OS X... And I am using it for downloading files over 100 mbytes too!

No idea why these things happen in your computer.
