x-Gear is launching a new case for the iPad which looks very similar to the current apple iPad case. This case is made of carbon fiber so it should be light and looks very sleek. Don't think it would have the same problem as the iPad case on the dust issue as well - which I believe is caused by the microsuede material used by apple. The downside is that this is more expensive than the apple case, priced at $70.

Anyone have any experience with the XGear cases in the past or have any more information on this particular case?

Yeah, I've seen this around, but not many pictures of it. I think MacMall's pre-order price may be cheaper. From the pictures and the description, I really don't think this is going to be similar to the Apple case in terms of functionality. It appears to be a straight-forward folio with no positioning built in (i.e. landscape or typing).
