Hi - I'm want to know if X-Plane 8 will work well on a 1.8ghz MacBook Pro. It says it requires Open GL graphics. Can anyone tell me if the quality / speed of the graphics will be OK. Thanks:)

You can download the full version free, it needs the dvd to unlock it but it works for 6 minutes every time you start it so that really is the best way to find out. It works well on my emac. The specs don't mention the new intel chips but you could always run the windows version with bootcamp I suppose. Should run better than on an emac though, didn't run badly on my other emac with a 32mb card either.

X-Plane has gone universal. It should run very well on the new Intel macs. People ran it on the G4 Mac mini's so the MacBook should scream on it.

Go to their website x-plane.com and get the update/demo. According to the website you should be able to get 85 FPS.

Oh, and open GL is a very Mac thing. It has been the main graphics driver on Macs since long before OS X.
