Any X-plane fans here?
I was browsing the app store and noticed that the new version of this sim has two new planes and a couple of other improvements. However, iTunes never notified me of this update, like they usually do for all of my apps.
Is this not a free update for people who have already purchased X-Plane? Do I have to spend another ten bucks to get two new planes?

The same company has two new related apps: a jetliner sim and a helicopter sim. If I buy these, do they merge with my existing X-planes so I can use planes from one sim with the scenery of the other(s)?

nope. free to existing customers.

they're all individual apps and you cannot interact between the 3.

That's what I thought. So how do I get the update? Do I click on "buy" and then iTunes gives it to me for free?

I may spring for the helicopter even though it's not integrated into X-Plane. Helis are fun, and the scenery is the Grand Canyon. I can live without the airliners: I've flown them in other sims and don't find them to be a lot of fun. Everything takes a long time. I wish I could use the airliner's extended scenery though.

aye. go to the app in the store, and it should say 'installed' at the top where it says the price. if it doesn't, and just says 'buy' it's because you dont have it currently installed, but if you've previously installed it but deleted it, the App Store will recognize you as a past customer who's previously downloaded it and let you re-install it again for free (a message to this effect will appear).
ie, you dont have to pay twice for an app.

OK, the app store still showed a price of $9.99, so I "bought" it. It said it was downloading (my touch was connected) but when I opened X-Plane, I still didn't have the new planes.
I unplugged the touch, reconnected it and let it synch again. Now I have the new planes. Thanks.
