'X'/Twitter - background activity anyone?

My battery is taking a real hammering from 'X' like never before. (54% Background Activity)
Never used to see it anywhere near the top of the battery killer list until recently. Have they changed something?

Plus, my 'Background App Refresh' is set to OFF.
And the difference between Background Activity and Background App Refresh is.....

I have Background App Refresh turned off for all my apps, but the battery settings still show things having background activity. Why is that?

Are you force closing the app when you're not using it? If not, maybe that'll help. (It's what I do.)

Does X (Twitter) work as a PWA (WebApp)? Or they force you to either the App or the Website?

Not sure, Just easier to view on the App Store App. I assume?
