There has been a few leaks recently about the upcoming iphones, alot of people commented that the bezels on the budget iphone are thicker than the oled mobiles, I guess I'm wondering if the new oleds will have thinner bezels compared to the current X or is it just that the budget iphone will have thicker bezels, anyone know more?

Thicker bezels would be because lcd panels I think ?

I think your right. The only one with thick bezel will be the LCD version which will be less expensive.

The 1st one to the furthest left is the X predecessor with OLED.

The middle is the larger LCD version, notice with slightly thicker bezel.

The 3rd one to the right is the OLED X Plus.

Honestly it doesn’t seem to be that much more bezel to be that big of a deal.

Im never going back to LCD. I’ll go back to droid first. I do A LOT of streaming and the difference is noticeable to me. Love the OLED deep rich black, eye poppingly accurate color, with amazing contrast and no black crush, truly superb display.

I think the new Oled models will have the same size bezels as the current X.

...if these pics are correct - is the larger phone on the right (farthest right), the same size as the iPhone 8 Plus or is it smaller?

We've seen the renders of the three alleged 2018 iPhone side by side in numerous places — What everyone wants to see is a Plus phone in that line up for comparison. That's the only thing that really matters.

I have this same question. Other rumors of being “the same size as the 8 Plus” or similar in size, I’m not sure if anything has been mentioned on actual dimensions.

I remember reading that it could be just slightly smaller than the Plus models. Either way, X Plus can't be bigger than a regular 8 Plus because it would be just too big, with that gigantic screen.

I’m hoping for no bigger than the current Plus as well.

Just for accuracy purposes, black crush is nothing to do with OLED or LCD. My LG OLED TV has a lot of black crush that needed to be calibrated out. No one technology is better than the other in this space.

Screen will most likely be the exact same on the new x vs the current x.

I originally misunderstood the question but rumor looks like there will be no difference between the bezel of the X now and the next version X and X Plus

Only differences between bezel is on the new less expensive LCD version

Nothing against you personally, but I love how before the iPhone X came out, everyone was bashing OLED saying it sucks because of burn in or less accurate colors, and Apple should stick with LCD's. Now everyone is realizing how great OLED is.

I did have an issue with burn in recently though on a 3 hour drive when I had a screen up the whole time on my phone. Luckily it went away a couple days later.

No offense taken because you didn’t hear from me. I was one of the people that was ready to go to the S9 because I wanted high resolution due to all the streaming I do. I was also one of those people that was estatic that display came from Samsung that Apple is currently using on the X.

Im one of those people that will tell you I will leave Apple if I don’t have an OLED option on a display moving forward now that I’ve seen it, I can’t UN-see it. :D

It looks a little thinner to me, but I don't care either way. I am fine with my X as is in terms of looks, but I am looking forward to upgrading.

To me, the whole bezel argument is moot now with the X and future iPhones. Its literally all display compared to where the Plus models were. Even in the past, bezels never were an issue for me, its all preference.

The iPhone X and and x plus will have slightly thinner bezels and a slimmer more refined notch.

The LCD model will be slightly thicker.

I think the problem is confusing "everyone" with "some people". A common problem here on these forums.

For example, "...some people were bashing OLED..." and "Now some people are realizing...". That makes far more sense. And it also leaves room for "most people probably never expressed an opinion on here one way or the other".

That’s not burn in that’s ghosting.

Apple seemed to have waited until the technology matured.

Based on a quick overlay in Photoshop, it appears that the new displays have a thinner bezel than the original X. As you can see, the 6.1" panel seems to have the same bezels as the current X, meaning the 5.8" will be smaller. Take it for what it is, and forgive my Photoshop skills...

This is what i wanted to see, or was hoping to see, good investigation work, it would be nice to see improved bezels and notch for sure, only thing now is if you are correct and the screen size is the same as the current X, then the case manufacturers have got the case dimensions wrong, and they rarely do.
[doublepost=1532403613][/doublepost]I guess my thinking was that if there is smaller bezels on the new X with same screen size, then the new X has to be smaller in dimensions, which according to case manufacturers is same size, I just thought if the new X is the same size that we might get a bit bigger screen.
