Hi Everyone,

I am typing this on my NEW white Macbook! Feels good.

My question concerns X11 on 10.5.6. A while back I upgraded my G4 Powerbook to Leopard and immediately began having problems with X11. I learned that was not alone. Eventually I stumbled across the XQuartz project, which solved my issues. However, I have not dealt with this since.

Have the issues with X11 on Leopard been resolved now? Or will I have to resort to XQuartz again?

Thanks for any info!

Mike

You should always use Xquartz as it is the project that Apple takes their own implementation of X11 from. Therefore it is always ahead of the Apple release in terms of features and bug fixes.

Leopard is only one update behind right now on XQuartz. The current XQuartz version contains a fix for fontconfig.

I too recommend you keep up with the latest XQuartz. I haven't had an issue yet.
