1st of all, is the 256 MB version of the x1600 worth it?? (more memory isn't always better, do i smell a salespitch?)

next. 17" imac or 20" imac. obviously bigger is better here but does anyone really care about 3 inches more of Screen?! Thoughts??

and processor speed. 1.83Ghz or 2.0Ghz, again more is better here. BUT! is the 160 or so Mhz a BIG difference? i doubt it.. Thoughts??

IS THE 300 TO 400 (possibly even 500 after tax and full customization) DOLLAR PRICE GAP BETWEEN THE MODELS WORTH THESE TINY DIFFERENCES FOR HL2 OR COMPUTING IN GENERAL??
ALL I NEED IS A GOOD CONIFIG TO RUN COUNTERSTRIKE SOURCE.

Post your thoughts, on these configs for CS and general usage.
any thoughts on my perspective?

17" will actually give you better performance in games at the native resolution. If that is whats important to you, then maybe the 17" makes more sense.

I think it's weird to see so many posts asking for advice on buying a Mac for gaming. Anyway, if you're going to be using your Mac for a regular computer, and you have the money, go for the 20". I bought one (with the stock 128 MB VRAM) on Thursday and I couldn't be happier. I'm really glad I opted to go for the 20". I was initially planning to buy the 17" model, but the extra screen space is really nice.
