Where can I buy the apple approved "booster cable", i.e. the power cable for attaching a x1900xt to the motherboard. I'm specifically looking for somewhere in the UK that sells these. I've found a few in the US but no UK shops yet. Apple UK were nada help.

Any help appreciated!

It should have come with the upgrade kit that you bought from Apple. I'm assuming you bought the upgrade kit from Apple. Right?

you can make your own...have you go to the strangedogs.com site to see if they have links? I know they discuss how to make your own.

This is for use under Windows, then, I assume? I doubt OS X would like that, without some faffing.

I was going to say the same thing. The PC one will only work under windows as it will need flashing (if it can be fllashed) to work under the MacOS.

The XT can be flashed...not sure the XTX or any other version has been flashed yet. Thought it will work under Windows (the flashed ones will then work in both fyi).

I have a ATI 1900 XTX PC version in my Mac Pro.

Go to strangedogs all the info is there, you just have to flash your card with a bios from a mac version of the 1900.

Tip ! Before you flash your card modify the bios so it will run at stock XTX speed of 650/1.55

And yes it´s the uber edition :)

The name of the software that let´s you tweak core and memory frequencies are ATIccelerator II.

I use a standard molex to PCIe connected to the 2nd optical bay.

Booster cable needed still...

Hey folks,

I ordered a x1900 off ebay, it works fine but the power solution is wrong. The guys selling it to me wants me to get the power off from the same power lead connecting to the CDRom drive.

I would MUCH prefer the Booster cable, where on earth can I get it?? I've look at all the places i can think off.

I would prefer if the source was in the UK.

Many thanks!
