x264 on the Mac Mini

Hey Folks -

So I've been toying with the idea of a Mac Mini as a media box for my 720p lcd tv. Essentially I think it will cover all of my needs, the one area however I'm uncertain about is x264 playback on the machine.

Essentially I'm wondering: What is the lowest end (bare requirement) to get reasonable x264 720p playback on a mac mini?

Don't worry about 720P - I do it on the Core Solo model. It's 1080 where things start to get a little tricky. Obviously, any of the dual-cores would be fine, and you'll be more likely to find those...
