Has anyone found a solution to this strange issue? If you buy a new computer from Apple or have an existing older install that has been upgraded to current 10.10.x then `system_profiler SPHardwareDataType` works as intended... but if you do a fresh 10.10.x install from recovery then you get this error:
Code:
opsek:~ snip$ system_profiler SPHardwareDataType
2015-04-27 09:45:45.153 system_profiler[856:18996] platformPluginDictionary: Can't get X86PlatformPlugin, return value 0
2015-04-27 09:45:45.156 system_profiler[856:18996] platformPluginDictionary: Can't get X86PlatformPlugin, return value 0
Hardware:

The kext exists and I tried replacing it with one from a machine that it works on but no dice.

Wtf? I've found references online to people having the same issue but no one has a fix for it yet.

I have a copy of 10.10.4 Beta running and get this error, was a 10.10.3 clean install that I updated 10.10.4.

I logged it.

Hrm, I'm glad I'm not the only one to see that it comes from a clean install. Very strange. :)
