I have been using the XBMC on the Xbox since 2004 and can't get enough of it. It truly is the best media center in itself. Since the Xbox is old, I am noticing that it can't play higher quality movies like 720p or 1080p and am wanting to upgrade to something like the Apple TV with XBMC. The question is, how similar to the Xbox's XBMC is the XBMC for Apple TV. Is it worth buying an Apple TV to put XBMC on it?

Well, all you're going to get is the latest version of IOS if you go out and buy an ATV2, which means that you're going to be running the newest XBMC Eden Beta 3. The functionality is basically the same, but it's a whole newer generation of XMBC. Liken it to "Oh, I run OSX Tiger, is Lion the same?"

Thanks for telling me. One question, does it have the web base interface to control it?
