Is it possible to have both versions of xcode and sdk 3.2 and 4.0 installed at same time so I can develop for current and future content. I haven't tried this yet, but I'm wondering if someone can point me in the right direction on how to do this. Thanks!

Yes, you can run both side-by-side. Please read the Custom Install Location instructions in the Xcode readme.
