I just installed an app called "App Cleaner & Uninstaller" from the App Store. The app is reporting Xcode taking 71.6GB on my iMac!

Does this sounds unusual?

Doesn't sound right to me but to make sure why don't you download one of the free apps that show drive space on your Mac and what's using it? Here's three apps that you can look at. Only Daisy Disk is not free.

That looks pretty strange to me. Get info (command i) in the finder says my installation is 11.3 GB, which is very big for an application bundle.

I think we’re ignoring the obvious - why did you download that app? Doesn’t sound reputable to me. Especially because it’s showing Xcode taking up 13GB but you need to “unlock” to see the 71GB. Hmm.

Use OmniDiskSweeper to see what’s taking up space on your drive: https://www.omnigroup.com/more/

The majority of space is used by ~/Library/Developers. Did you have a look what's in there?
