I am using the latest macOS Monterrey, with Xcode 13.4.1 or 14 Beta 3, if I leave the computer idle for the amount of time set in System Preferences --> Battery --> Turn Off Display the MacBook Pro 16" (2021) will not enter Sleep (I am checking it with the Sleep Aid App), then if I put it to sleep via the Menu Bar option or closing the lid it will sleep OK.
If I close Xcode, now the idle sleep will work fine, there is something when Xcode is running that is preventing the laptop to enter the sleep mode, after the idle time out, to turn off the display; kicks in.

This is the message that I was able to catch with the Sleep Aid app:

osservice<com.apple.SpringBoard>4911-4909-14:FBSystemApp-PreventIdleSleep

Any suggestion would be appreciated, thanks

Thanks for sharing this, I was just looking up what "FBSystemApp" might be and found your post.

Do you have any iOS simulators running when Xcode blocks sleep?

The Xcode embedded Preview simulator is running, not the actual simulator (stand alone)
