Simple question, has anybody had issues with XCodes stability? For some reason it has become very unstable for me and I really don't know why.
It will crash all by itself which is very strange. Sometimes within minutes of starting work.

Now in using it I sometimes have my unprovisioned iPhone attached which does generate an error message. But that doesn't seem to be the root cause. The problem is the issue seems to be getting steadily worst.

By the way I'm using python a bit to generate data files for my iPhone project. This shouldn't be an issue even if the python environment is half baked. That and I've been using python for months.

I'm away from the machine right now so I can't give specifics. Right now I just want to know if anybody else has had similar issues.

Thanks
Dave

You r right, it crashes too often, even Visual Studio on Windows crashed much less.
I can compare 5 years developing in VS and 6 months in XCode.

I noticed that if SCM is not used - it crashes less.

i've had occasional crashes with XCode but it has been pretty decent so far.

While SCM is reliable most times, it sometimes really drops the ball. Sometimes I commit files, my .xcodeproj files say I committed it. But when I physically look or checkout next time, they are not there. So when I try to re-add them to the project, I can't because XCode says they are already in the project. It just becomes a nightmare.

Yeah, SCM is nightmare.

Thanks Guys

Interesting about the SCM. Right now I use none at all so I haven't seen issues with that.

At least now I have partial confirmation that I'm not suddenly going nutty myself. The problem is I still have no idea why XCode suddenly became very unstable. It is very strange.

I had the same problem, locked up on the compiles and had to do a forced quit to kill it.

I reinstalled and it's been running like a champ since then.
