macOS Xcode - what to install?

Right. I have been looking into programming, more or less to learn regardless.

I've located Xcode on disc 1 for my Macbook, but there seems to be a fair few installers on their and I'm unsure which/what I need to install.

I can load a picture up if required, but general advise will do

As a side note, I have "Programming in Objective C by Stephen Kochan" and "Cocoa: Programming for OS X by Aaron Hillegass" as recommended by users here.

I'd simply start with the default install and go from there. If you find there are pieces/parts that you are missing, you can always add those packages later.

Okie doke, thanks for that. I was just reading through the About Xcode PDF anyway, seems like what it installs is what I'll probably need.
