I'm a student trying to study for my class using Xcode. I'm complelty new to this application. I've been using Microsoft Visual at school but would like to move all my work onto my MBP.

Anyway. My question is about the compiler. I've written some code. But I'm unable to complie it - simply because of the reason that the "compile and run" option in the Xcode menus are all 'greyed out' I dunno what to really do. I thought I might post this question on the board seeing that many of you are programmers.

-Actualy most of the options in the menus are completly greyed out. Does anyone know anything about Xcode and how to get the greyed out menu options to work?

Have you created a project and moved your files into it?

If you just open a file in Xcode without a project, you can't build or run or anything.
