I always get this one error

Her is the exact error I get.

Try disconnecting and powering off the device; then power the device on and reconnect it.


Could some one post a tutorial on how to set up the project and you iPhone and the developer center. I really need some help. Please help here.

I have provisioned my Iphone I think and I need help. I ave also contacted the dev center and they have no got back to me.

Have you followed the instructions provided by Apple in the program portal? They layout everything you need to do quite clearly there in a step by step manner.

I have contacted Apple Bug report, this is what they said

You will need to verify that the application-identifier entitlement in the .xcent file you can see listed in the last two steps of the build results from building your application matches the application-identifier in your provisioning profile. Mismatches are the most common cause of that error message. Do you see a discrepancy there?

I have no clue where the .xcent file is?

I had this error the first time I setup my iPhone for development. Just go back through the steps again, and follow them exactly.

Yeap, be sure to delete your Provisions first, then everything else and start over.

Also be sure that your Bundle ID is correct.

I got this error and it took forever to fix it.

You can't delete App ID's. You'll just have to create a new one. (I'd give it a different name too. Rather than give you more details in any further windows, they just tell you the name of the App ID.)

So I had the problem:

<My App Name>
<My App Name>
<My App Name>

And I didn't know which was the newer one.

I had the same problem and solved it...

See thread 528352 where I had a similar problem and solved it using the same recommendations presented here.

You also have to make sure your development environment is set up correctly for the application you're building. Set the correct developer ID - mine is "iPhone Developer: Ron C" for example... Most of this is in either my thread or others before mine. Keep at it and you'll get it...

I apologise if this sounds stupid.

The same thing happened to me and I looked up the error message and found this thread and a few other discussions elsewhere, all recommending the most complicated solutions, usually including restoring the phone.

After considering this for a few minutes, I tried doing exactly what the error message said, disconnected the phone, powered it off, powered it back on, and reconnected it.

And that worked.

I did think that the error is serious and that the simply solution it recommend wouldn't work anyway, but it did.

I wouldn't say it made sense. (After all, why couldn't that be resolved without a restart?)

This kind of error implies that Apple were aware of the problem and didn't solve it.

Problem solved

The same thing happened to me, after making my online provisioning for developing applications. When I connected the iPod Touch and accessed the Organizer window in XCode the message appeared:

Your mobile device has encountered an unexpected error (0xE8000001)
Try disconnecting and powering off the device; then power the device on and reconnect it.

Then, I was doing the wrong thing in order to try to get rid of the problem. Just disconnecting, pressing the top button (and thus putting it into sleep mode) and then, reconnecting it again. The same message appeared.

Then I pressed the top button for a while, on the touch screen I commanded the slider to shut off (desligar, in portuguese) and then, touching it again the screen started from the white apple. Then, connected again and Xcode window showed a much friendly window as expected.
