Approximately one year ago the XDR display would not wake from sleep. Even a restart would not bring the monitor back on. I discovered all I had to do was unplug the power source (for several seconds), plug it back in and the monitor would turn back on. This would happen 1-2 times a month. Then the frequency increased to a point where it would happen once a day. I could not consistently reproduce the problem. It was random. After several troubleshooting steps over the phone and sending in logs, Apple requested I bring the monitor to the store. They tested it for over a week, but could not reproduce the problem. Apple requested I bring in both the monitor and desktop.
When I returned home I noticed I had the monitored plugged into a random TB3 port, not the video card. Since plugging it into the video card, the problem has not returned.
I hope this solves the problem.
