I have a 27'' iMac 2009 model with Core i5-750,i know the cpu causally could upgraded to Core i7-860 2.8GHz(the Apple offered from the factory).
I would like to know if it can be upgraded to the Xeon X3460 2.8GHz??The X3460 CPU has the same specifications as the i7-860,also could be seen as the server version of the i7-860.

The 2010 iMac change the i3 to the Xeon, but it can't show the correct id of the Xeon cpu in About This Mac only.I don't really care the correct show of About This Mac,it don't bother me.I think that X3460 could run in the 2009 iMac as the i7-860 is the win.
Does anybody used to try it?Let‘s discuss the possibility.
I also want to know can I change the CPU to the Core i7-870 2.93GHz(Apple offered in the 2010 model from the factory).
My English is poor, thanks for you guys' attention&discussion!
