Hey guys,

Have any members had success using Xeon QS or ES chips in Mac pros ? I'm thinking of having a tinker as I'm on holidays and have some time. Worst case I can use it in my PC .

And if anyone has had success, how do the appear in system profile?

Cheers

QS and ES are considered stolen property by Intel. They are quite literally "early drafts" of the processors so they may or may not work properly.

Thanks. But it is not answer for my question.
Anybody installed QS processor? will it work on mac pro?

from what I have seen they do tend to work...

(there was one guy in this forum that got a 12 Core 1.4Ghz ES sample chip instead of the E5-2697 v2 he ordered, and that 12 Core 1.4Ghz chip did work in his 6,1)

Hi,

any success stories?:)
can i buy QS xeon for my nMP?

thanks
Hi.
On the way to final product ES have a few revisions. Early revisions have a lot of bugs. Latest works almost like retail product. So if you decied to buy ES you better find revision's history first (on enthusiast's forums). But anyway it's lottery.

QS is almost safe to buy.
