Look them up on wikipedia. Xeon = workstation version of the Core 2 Duo, faster, hotter etc, able to be used in tandem with another Xeon processor of the same speed and type. MBP's Core 2 Duo = mobile version of the Core 2 Duo, slower, cooler, can only be used on its own. Do some research and find out.

Chone macrumors 65816 Aug 11, 2006 1,222 0 Oct 25, 2006 #4 The real difference is quite considerable, Mac Pro feels snappier than the iMac 20" and its saves quite some times on iMovie tests (it is maybe 1.5-2 times faster?) The only dissapointment about Xeon really are the FB-DIMMs.
