.XLS files on iphone/ipad ?

hello All,
Is there a way to open .XLS file on iphone? i have Quickoffice installed but its giving me an error and crashes..
pleaes let me know if some one has a solution to it..

i am trying to open .XLS as an attachment to my email and i could only see white page with the File name written in the center of it.. thats it..

please help

I open XLS in e-mail all the time.
iOS opens it just fine. No special software installed.

i thought so, and i remember opening those on my iphone..but now its not...any idea ?
