What would be the BEST gadget to ask for other than an MP3 Player/DVD Player or a camera.. and it must be under 500$ Canadian...

I don't know what the BEST would be but here are a couple of ideas:

Cellphone

PDA

Satellite Radio receiver with/without Subscription

External HDD

Mac Mini? (might be slightly over budget)

Handheld Navigation Device

Dyson Vacuum Cleaner

Laser47

I'm gonna ask for a Black Moto Razr, that way I can have a phone that I can connect to my shiny PowerBook. That's definitely under 500.

You could also ask for Creature Speakers to plug your iPod into.

YES! Woohoo!

Although I don't cache much in the winter, I was going to make a comment about geocaching in the snow until I saw where you're from... :)
yeah...no snow here. :)
But I do have a cache in Lake Tahoe, I'm going to go up around Thanksgiving to take it away for the winter though. (no one will be able to find it under 6 feet of snow)
Here's my Cache

Are there any speaker systems FOR THE NANO that could work with the nano protected with a cover? about 1/3 an inch wider on both sides.

Thanks

A RAZR with iTunes would be nice, if you can get it in Canadia. iSights make nice gadget gifts. Or that's right about the price range of a Dell 2005fpw 20" Widescreen LCD.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. Mac users recommending a microsoft xbox 360. Gotta love a company who is sneaky enough to copy everything from some other company.
-Windows, a GUI concept created by apple(supposedly). You have windows in all your applications.
-Vista's version of dashboard
-The name, xbox 360, which was created after the name "nintendo revolution" 360 degrees=a revolution

Okay, okay, I clearly hate microsoft. As for xmas, if you aren't sure 100% of what you want, money is the key!

Read a few of the other threads regarding the iSight (https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/160465/) Sure, it's nice, but most people don't end up using it, especially b/c it's only compatible with a couple of chat clients. Both me and my roommate have one, but we've used them a combined maybe 5 times ever...
I think it is one of those things you will want like crazy until you have it. (Like my Bluetooth Keyboard & Mouse - sure I like it, but I don't really find them necessary anymore - everyone told me that's how I would feel - but I needed to experience it for myself I guess.)

I know you can spend up to $500 Cdn, but you don't NEED to spend it all. Just get what you want, whether you use up the money or not.

A cool, somewhat fancy watch

New speakers for your room (if yours aren't great)

If you're from Ontario and are over 19, ask for LCBO gift certificates. Nothing says X-mas like booze. :D

Some DVDs

Expensive sunglasses

New jacket that's way more expensive than you should be spending.

ski or snowboard equipment (not the entire set, obviously, but replace something in your set if you already have an older set of skis, or a snowboard)

A TV for your bedroom

A bar fridge for your bedroom.

A raincheck so that you can buy a more expensive gift next year. ;)
