I've never noticed this problem before, but I have my G4 on dual boot 10.3 7B39 (damn college packet shapers) and OS 10.2.8. I pull up my home directory on my girlfriends computer on campus with no problems at all when running 10.3, but if I'm running 10.2 the thing just won't authenticate. She's running XP and I've checked it on some other XP boxes and had the same problem. How do I format the login so it works. Once I enter my login information it pops the window back up and formats the login like I'm trying to login with an account local to her machine (MICHELLE/tsmith instead of just tsmith). Any help out there or do I just have to use 10.3 more.

well, Im about to leave so I will post again when I get back home... I think your problem can be solved by adding another workgroup to your list with a log/pass you want (it might be a user to workgroup) anyways if you want you can do this by going under "your computer" properties then to shareing then there should be an option to add user or group... Hope this helps for now, I will post later tonight to see if its fixed or if you need more detail.

ok heres whats different go into the properties of your C drive and click on the sharing tab.... then click on new share and set it up with a log pass for you
oh ya and before this you must go to users and passwords in tht control panal to setup the profile for you to use for the sharing tab... I hope this helps :)
