Hi everyone!

I seem to have this very annoying problem. The only thing I can think of that could cause it is if XP and OSX are storing the Date and Time info in the same place, but read it differently. Basically, compared to OSX, XP thinks it's a day earlier, and an hour later than OSX, and vice versa. This is annoying because each operating system often takes many hours to check and change the time and date, if at all. This of course has the potential of causing me major problems (eg. I find out at 12:30 it's actually 1:30 and I should have been somewhere half an hour ago, etc.).

I'm running 10.4.11, have 10.5 on order (receiving tomorrow) with XP SP2 and Boot Camp 1.4. Does anyone else have this problem, and will upgrading to Leopard (and Boot Camp 2 that comes with it?) or anything else fix it?

I don't remember if it's been fixed yet, but i definitely remember reading that it was a known issue in the past, so you're not crazy.

I also assume that the discrepencies in dates between the two operating systems is why the mac version of battlefield 2142 (which is really the PC version but wrapped in a CIDER package) can't display my stats correctly with respect to time.

In other words, 2142 for mac uses the same code as the PC version, so I think it expects the date in OS X to work the same way, which it apparently doesn't... hence the game giving me the wrong dates for receiving badges and stuff.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll find out if it's been fixed later today!
Ordered a Wireless Mighty Mouse, VMware Fusion, and Leopard, delivers today!

I'll let you know if it's fixed.

This issue is not only with boot camp. It appears with VMware as well. It must have to do with how OSX (or the Mac hardware) keeps itself totally separated from Windows. This is the same file viewed concurrently by VMware+XP and OSX. I made the file last night and viewed it at the time of this post.

It doesn't happen with Vista/OS X Leopard. They have no problem with keeping time correctly on my MacBook.

The thread title is a little off the mark because it was first seen in bootcamp. The possible solution is in XPs registry so works in both bootcamp and vmware. It deosn't work for everyones setup however.

I use bootcamp for LEopard and XP and I have a same problem. IF I correct clock in XP then it messes with OSX, but when I change in OSX it messes my XP. I kind of learned to live with this in a hope it will be fixed in the future. My difference in time something like 5 hours.
