xp installation on new imac

hey guys i just bought a new imac today so im new to this i usually use a pc. but im having trouble installing xp through bootcamp it goes smoothly right until its finishes formating and then the xp starts to install, before you would put in the activation key it suddenly shuts off the whole computer. now i know its not the cd cause its worked on other computers there no scratches so that aint it and its not the dvd driver cause i can watch movies etc etc so im not sure i hope any one can help

ps the cd is a "legal" copy but works fine

XP what ?

Is the XP current with Service Pack 2? Don't use SP3 and I've heard plain XP and XP with SP1 will not work.

i guess no body knows NOOBODY!!!!! i called mac reps and nothing they have told me to call microsoft i called microsoft and they told me to call mac reps wtf lol no one wants to take this on lol i have searched the net for an answer and not many people have this problem there are still people that have it too and they still dont know AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH PLEASE HELP MEE!!!!!!!!!!!!im starting to appreciate my other computer that has windows on it already lol but i NEED xp on this imac i sos much for mac
