Hi There
I attempted to install XP on my mac using bot camp a couple of weeks ago, purely for something to do and maybe have a mess about on some games and the like, so i grabbed a copy i had lying from my old computer, started boot camp setup thing and off i went.

I got half way through the installation when i was told i needed another disk or something so i though forget this, waste of time anyway. So i went back to OS X and deleted the partition i'd created for it and all was well.

But when i turned my mac back on i got a blck screen with 'Please insert boot disk' in the traditional, hideous XP setup font i'd come to hate so dearly. To get into OS X i have to turn the mac off and on again and then hold the function key to select the Mac HDD. even though it's the only option there.

Is there anyway i can completely remove the semi windows installation it appears i have even though i've deleted it's partition. Erasing free space doesn't seem to work. Obviously i could wipe the disk and start again, and even though i probably should as i have a lot of stuff i don't use on here, it's too much hassle really. any suggestions?

cheers, Joe

This happened to me so much. Evertime I've put XP on I've forgotten how I did it.
