...is a lot like os x, look and feel

and a high tech client of mine just told me about the lawsuit or impending lawsuit on it...but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that microsoft was playing copycat again...and they put out an os copying apple's os x, but microsoft can never quite get the total coolness factor going

but XP does look better than windows 2000 which doesn't really look that much different than windows 95/98

well anyway, if apple inc wins, how much do you think they will eventually get from microsoft?

and does this really matter in the big picture? (i have seen changes in high tech in the silicon valley from apple orchards to apple inc, from vaccum tubes to transistors, from apple being dominant to PCs being dominant, from dot.com to dot.bomb, so anything can happen EXCEPT apple will never regain the computer industry lead in market share since the mistakes apple inc made early on sealed their fate forever...and this is the only forever one can bank on in this high tech business...apple will never reverse their image as the all time high tech choke leaders...it's like being 3 games up in the world series, 9th inning two outs, and being ahead 100-0, but still managing to come up losing the series

if there ever were two gifted individuals in high tech who were also bad long term business strategists, it would have to be the two steves of apple...but god bless them, you have to love them

thoughts???

The real question is if Gates will again pull out that old decision that Windows promised to only not copy the Mac OS in Windows version 1. XP may look "like" Mac OS X, but it SUCKS, it is UGLY!!!

XP is ugly compared to any version of os x

but XP rocks over 2000, nt, 95, 98, and ME...and it is stable...98 and 95 can also be made to be stable but you have to know tons of tricks...but for mac's operating systems all you have to know is, "turn on the on switch" and most of the rest of the basic stuff is almost instinctual

XPs user interface, while better than 98 by a lot, is still confusing on basic tasks

but for networking and the more advanced stuff, nothing is really that "easy" and it helps to study up on it and even have a third party manual or two

one day, however, all computers will be as easy as toasters to use, and as cheap:p

I've always thought that XP looked like OS X. But whatever. There's so many similarities between them now, it doesn't matter who is copying who. There's really very little true innovation going on on either side.

But Expose is looking REALLY nice. ;)
