XP on new MacBook (Pro)

I just installed it on my New Macbook Pro 5,1.
So far, none of the drivers work. I installed everything just fine, even when I put the Leopard DVD in and installed the drivers, it says it worked. When I restart, there's no audio, no wireless, no bluetooth, nothing. I even installed Boot Camp 2.1 on it, and still nothing...
Has anyone else had this problem?

Have installed Windows XP
I have installed Windows XP Service Pack II on my MacBookPro using VMware Fusion and it seems to be working fine...well almost fine. I can't use the camera iSight on the MSN Messeger...so there`s no voice neither....but for the ABC....it`s all right.
I am asking if someone has solved this problem: Getting MSN Messenger operational using the VMware Fusion...would greatly appreciate that info.

To right click, use three fingers on the track pad. I don't know why it's different but it's kind of a pain when you are shifting b/w os and win.

The trackpad/keyboard works, but right clicking doesn't. None of the drivers seem to work at all.

I read in another thread that you cloned your copy of XP (please correct me if I'm wrong). I suggest doing a full reformat. Start from scratch. The older drivers can cause nothing but problems.
Programs like Winclone are good for doing backups, not transfering your install of Windows from one computer to another (mainly due to driver issues).
Works for me. I checked a game quickly, and a few other odds and ends. It did seem like right-click wasn't working until I read this thread (as the control panel says tap with two fingers, and it's a 3 finger gesture on this generation...)
The only problem I've had so far is that the slot-loading drive doesn't like one of my discs (brand new, just got it last month), and I have to install it using an external drive. The slot-loading drive ejects it after grinding and complaining for a while (in either windows or OSX)

I'm having issues with the drivers as well. They seemed to install fine, but I'm not getting any right click functionality with two fingers (I have it setup in the bootcamp windows app to enable secondary click with two fingers...) and I'm also not getting any audio whatsoever. Is there anyone out there that isn't having an issue with either of these two problems?

Need to know if I should go with XP or Vista
I am dumping my PC habit (this was the 6th in five years) for the new Mac Book Pro (2.4GHz). I make my living in Solidworks and need to purchase either XP or Vista today or tomarrow to install it on the MacBook Pro when it arrives tomarrow. I have hated Vista ever since I got my last laptop and wanted to go back to XP. Do you think I should stay away from a XP install based on these posts or risk it and hope the driver issues will be worked out? What would you install? XP or Vista?
I have orderd the MacBook and need to make a decison very soon on the OS for windows.
Any help is appreciated!

I did this, and it worked. It was my last choice, but I ended up having to do it. The trackpad is still an issue, but everything else works fine.
I did this too: removed the partition entirely via the boot camp assistant, and started over. I installed XP sp3, installed the boot camp drivers off of the Leopard disk (2.0) and installed the 2.1 update. I still have no wireless, no bluetooth, etc. It said it all installed fine, and prompted me to restart, which I did. Seems very few of the drivers actually installed. I am on a new unibody MBP 2.8ghz/4gb/320gb, if that helps. Also, used an 80GB NFTS format partition.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Damn, will the new macbook pro work with wifi, or ethernet, and itunes, and sound? because i just ordered a new macbook pro 2.56 GhZ 15.4 inch....

NO this is crazy you get a mac or the mac os if you want win xp why did you pay a bunch of money for a apple when you could have paid like 500 bucks for a dell.
This is just my opinion but trust me mac is the best OS ou will ever have

OSX to VMWare to XP to Solidworks
Ken, I am also about to attempt the same thing but am not sure whether to grab the MBP or an 8-Core Mac Pro. I use Solidworks pretty heavily and right now cannot decide between the 2 machines because the Pro's and Con's seem to balance each other dammit.
I have NO IDEA how Solidworks will run through XP+VMWare. Have you tried this before? What is it like? I would be Multi-tasking Solidworks with multiple Adobe CS4 applications. Am I going to be cruising or walking?
Would really appreciate some insight from anybody else too? The Mac Pro would be better of course - but i can't take that anywhere.
