Installed XP on my Mac Pro which features four sticks of 1GB memory. XP only recognizes two of the four sticks. Solution?

I'm sure this has been discussed multiple times.

32-bit XP can address a 4GB virtual space, some of which is reserved for the kernel. By default you will see only 2GB but that can be extended to 3GB. See this article for details.

Well, /3GB switch or PAE wont work in Mac Pro unlike in most BIOS based Windows PCs. Mac Pro is stuck at 2 GB limit for now.

Funny thing is that new MBP can "see" upto 3 GB.

Obviously it has newer EFI firmware than our "old" Mac Pro. Perhaps new MBPs are running newer Insyde's EFI firmware.

Hope this means Mac Pro can see beyond 2 GB with next firmware update.

What's the point? Windows cannot fully use it anyway. Just continue using it if you absolutely have to, it's not going to be any better with more memory. The system has been optimised to use 16MB of memory so it flushes stuff to hard drive rather quickly.
