XP Pro 64-Bit on Early 2008 Mac Pro

I have been debating between XP Pro (32-bit) or Vista Ultimate 64-bit for Boot Camp.

A friend of mine mentioned he had a copy of Xp Pro 64-bit lying around and that seemed like a decent option since i get the goodness of XP and 64-bit without the uhh Vista-ness of Vista.

Is anyone running this? Does it work well? Does it work at all? Do things run better under Vista 64-bit than they do under Xp 64-bit? I'm mostly going to be running Team Fortress/Steam games, Crysis, etc.

Vista will run very well on a Mac Pro. I'd go for that option. Plus it's more secure out the box.

I run Vista Ultimate 64bit and it is great for gaming. I don't see any problem with running XP Pro 64bit though. You'll have to download the drivers yourself, but once that is done it should be easy.

Yeah I guess that's true. Plus from what I recall XP 64-bit isn't very well supported at all, most people probably don't even realize it exists

From what I've seen MS is pushing a lot more for people to support drivers (and hopefully apps as well) across both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms for Vista, so I guess it's probably the better route.

User account control isn't really added security, it's just annoying But supposedly Vista is more secure underneath, with stuff you don't see. Things like the video layer being separate from the kernel (unlike XP), etc... stuff that's supposed to make it harder to hack or infiltrate.
