I know it's not crashing but the GMA950 seems to be hit and miss to get HL2 working.

It might be that the graphics card is so bad in the Macbook it refuses to play the games? Edit: Eidorian got there before me.
I've had it work for some people on the GMA950 and the others not. It's not a problem limited to the MacBook.
