I have a MacBook Pro 15", I have been running Window XP 32 bit using Boot Camp, with Tiger running on the Mac Side.
I can no longer access the internet on the windows side using any internet connection programs (Browsers: Firefox and IE, Software updates, AutoCAD activation, etc.). But the Mac side works perfectly fine. The Windows side will say that it has connected to the wireless network and has very good reception, but will not work in any way. I have also tried connecting using my ethernet port, and that does not work either. I have also tried this on probably four or five different wireless networks, with consistent results.
It worked fine from the time i got the computer (summer 2007) until the summer 2008, (June? July?) and i did not bother fixing it until now because i will have to use AutoCAD and Revit soon (i am an Architecture student - there is no getting around using windows) and it is impossible to activate AutoCAD without an internet connection on the windows side. I don't remember installing any new software or hardware at the time this happened.
I have tried updating my wireless card driver, repairing the drivers for the MacBook Pro hardware, and resetting the wireless connection, and nothing has done anything.
I am willing to wipe out the windows partition and reinstall window,, but i don't have Leopard, so i have Boot Camp Assistant Beta 1.3 and whenever i try to start the application it quits immediately and tells me that it has expired. And there does not seem to be any update from apple for boot camp.
I would rather not spend the money on Leopard, but there does not seem to be any way around it.
Can anyone help me?
