I've only had my phone for a couple of days, but I've had issues when receiving text messages during a phone call. The first time, I was connected to my car via Bluetooth. After the text came through, the person I was speaking with could no longer hear me, even though I could hear him. I tried switching off of Bluetooth, and talking through the speaker, with no luck. I had to hang up and call him back. I chalked it up to bad reception. But not long after, I was talking on the phone (not bluetooth), and the same thing happened. This time, the person couldn't hear me for a matter of about 20 seconds, and then the sound returned. FWIW, I had just exchanged my Coral XR for this one. Never had any issues on the Coral, but I'm wondering if my new White XR is defective. Has anyone else had issues?

If you’re using another SMS app such as the one from Verizon instead of the Apple messaging app, there could be a conflict if its not set up right. I’d just do a factory reset on it since it’s a new phone.

Thanks for your response! I only use the Apple iMessages app, but I guess that a factory reset couldn't hurt. I'm leaning toward bringing it back to exchange though. I don't want to risk it. In the past, I paid the price for not being vigilant. I had problems with my MacBook Pro, where it starting turning itself off suddenly while I was working on it. This kept up for weeks. Called the Apple help line, and they suggested little fixes. In the store, they couldn't replicate it. After dozens of shut downs in a matter of weeks, it started operating perfectly again, for about a year. I figured it was probably caused by a bad software update. By the time it started up again, I was out of warranty by a week, and it turned out that the logic board was defective. I was kicking myself for not returning it back in the beginning when the signs were there...
