XR stuck in dark mode after installing 14.01

I have an xR (by the way the x = 10) and not having this issue on 14.01. More details from you would be helpful including a screenshot of your Display settings and all of the troubleshooting steps you've taken so far.

Also you might want to update the title of your thread in your initial post to something more descriptive such as "xR stuck in dark mode after 14.01 update" ... something like that maybe.

I have amended all the display settings one at a time and completed a hard restart between to no avail, nothing seems to work

You may need to try doing reset all settings then. Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
