I have noticed taking a standard photo using the 2X zoom I get these floating objects in my picture. They are white and almost remind me of a dead pixel would look like. They do move though so not sure if its something going on with the camera internally or what. It wouldn't be that big of deal if I was just seeing this artifact on the screen however it is showing up in the pictures themselves. Below is a cropped image to try to illustrate (left hand side- white dot). Anyone else notice this?

Possibly, but if that were the case I would anticipate that I would see it on other settings as well (portrait, videos, etc.)

When you are taking an image in near dark, the phone has to crank the sensor up to max sensitivity which will show a few pixels that do not work well. It likely will only happen at max sensitivity and not during regular imaging. My DSLR will do the same.

I think yours is normal.

If true then that would explain why I only see it under certain scenarios. I just want to make sure I don't have a defective camera that's all since that was one of the draws from me upgrading in the first place. It looked odd to me as the one is moving all over the lower half of screen.

You can return it and get it replaced but at max sensitivity, all sensors will show this. Even my $5000 DSLR does this at high ISO.

I actually tried on my X and could not get it to replicate. Possibly different sensors used in the XS than X?
