Xs Pairing Issue With Kenwood Car Stereo.

Tried pairing my new Xs with my Kenwood DNX891HD car stereo and had problems. The Xs sees the Kenwood, however it fails to pair. I've tried several times to restart both and pair, but it doesn't work.
Help please!

890hd here. When I get my XS Max to finally pair next time I turn my car off it will forget it was ever connected

I had a 6 Plus, with no issues. I've read the X has had problems with this. Wonder if an update will solve the problem?
This isn't an insignificant problem as hands free is the law!
