Xserve CPU upgrade (Woodcrest to Harpertown)

I've found a cheap Xserve (late 2006) with two dual core Xeon @3ghz that I'm planning to buy and upgrade to two quad core Xeon @3ghz.

The "stock" Xeons are Woodcrest and target CPUs will be Harpertown. Both share the same FSB, socket and multiplier just different voltages but I'm still not 100% convinced that they're going to work given the age of the server.

Xeon X5450
3 GHz 2 × 6 MB 1333 MT/s 9× 0.85–1.35 V 120 W LGA 771

No one got it working with Mac Pros, so I doubt they will work on Xserves. May only require a firmware update - as that was all that was needed with many OEM boards - but no one ever solved it.

Yes, Clovertowns will work.

The fastest you'll be able to stuff in that system is an X5365 (4x cores @ 3.0GHz, FSB = 1333).
