Hey all,
I am kind of a noob to the XServe and all of its functions, but I have one. I was wondering if, and how I can install server monitor on my Macbook so that I can remotely control it.

Any comments would be GREATLY appreciated

You need to download and install the Server Admin tools for your Macbook's operation system version. Then connect to the Xserve via the tools in the Server folder in the Applications folder.

Wait, it actually isn't working.

Can someone tell me if it is it possible to use remote server monitoring on a machine that is year 2004?

Thanks.

Or maybe you need the 10.5.7 version on your Macboook... I can never remember which is needed for which machine.

Why not try apple remote desktop, install on both machines if you want. Once installed on your macbook you have complete access and control of server, you may need to make some port changes to your firewall, worked well for me using server running 10.4 and mac pro running 10.6

Woah, that's kinda pricey. I don't think I want to spend that much $$$ for something that isn't completely necessary. Thanks anyways.
