Yahoo IM - changing DV to USB webcam

I thought that i would be able to use Yahoo to videoconference to a windows user using Yahoo. but my version seems to only support DV input from a webcam, so my USB cam doesn't work, does anyone have any suggestions to how i can change the preferences?
