I have set up my yahoo account in my iphone, wen I'm connected with WIFI, the email push comes in seconds, but when I'm connected with EDGE, push does not come through. Can anyone help?

I have also noticed something strange, I have followed the instructions from other thread that to put imap.apple.yahoo.com in the IMAP PREFIX under setting. When I do that I only have the Inbox folder in my yahoo account. If I leave out the IMAP PREFIX, I have other mail folders, such as the trashcan, bulkmail, sent mail and etc. Really have no idea what's going on.

The 'push' is unreliable which has led people to try different things to get it to work. When it works for them they claim its working and then everyone thinks these things fix the problem. THEY DON'T. I've tried the prefix and don't get push on wifi or edge reliably; sometimes its instant others its 30 minutes....

I've tried deleting the account, removing all but one, adding the prefix, all with the same result. Yahoo has to fix whatever the issue is....I'd contact them.

Good post. I've just given up for now. Gave me a headache and I spent 3 hours futzing around with it rather than enjoying my Jesus Phone.

Hahah, thats funny. As soon as I give up...it works. I deleted my two other accounts so that I only have the yahoo one and now it pushes! Previously I had the two other accounts on the phone but disabled. I read someone who said that when you have pop and IMAP accounts, the auto check feature is activated and negates the PUSH feature. Doesn't make sense but now I'm pushing.

Think I'll post a poll to see if anyone finds this to work.

NOTE: Just got another message that pushed.

I found that some messages were going to the bulk (spam) folder at yahoo. Go turn off spam in the yahoo mail setting on the web. Seems to work for me now...

Thanks Gil,

Some of them are going into spam, you're right. But quite a few of them were also in the inbox but not being received until I manually checked. My auto check setting was on manual because I had some pop accounts. Now that I only have the IMAP account, I don't have that option and the email are being pushed within a minute. Very happy and NOT TOUCHING A THING from now on! :D

Why not try http://everyone.net -- they offer IMAP push...
