so im new here and this is my first post:)

1.67ghz powerbook g4
1.5gb of ram
80gb hard drive
128mb vram
dual layer super drive
high resolution 15inch screen
aluminum case
osx 10.5.5 leopard and it came with virtual pc running xp pro.

it was running horribly slow so i tried to make xp a bit faster by putting on the classic theme and a solid color background, didnt really help much.

then i was installing avg anti virus and it froze on the very last part so i tried closing it and it decided to stop responding so after it finally did close, i tried restarting xp and it wouldnt restart or shut down.

i then went back to the osx screen and attempted to close it from the dock and it wouldnt, so then i tried shutting down the laptop and that wouldnt work either becuase it kept saying virtual pc needs to shut down so i took the battery out and put it back in and all worked fine for osx

when i opened virtual pc it all worked good right up until the xp loading screen finish, it flashes the blue screen of death and restarts loading xp

so then i was googling around and found that to uninstall you simply delete the files so i used the spot light to find all the files and deleted them.

so now finally, is there anyway to install xp as a dual boot on here or will it not run because of the g4 ppc processor?
i heard it will only work on intel based macs for dual boot.

and if thats true then when i reinstall virtual pc and xp how do you recommend making it faster?

Can't help you much with the Virtual PC side of things except to say it will run pretty slowly on that hardware and I'm not sure there's much you can do about it. And yes, dual booting Windows is only for Intel Macs.

Dual Boot only works on intel macs. The only option you have is to run Windows from virtual pc 7. Do not install any type of antivirus udner virtual pc 7 because this will increases the processing overhead (since it is constantly running in the background). You can find a guide to running Windows faster with Virtual PC 7 Here:

and you'll also want to turn off indexing, you can find a guide here:

Hope this helps some,
