Hi guys, recently I've asked for a replacement of my 27'' iMac which had visible yellow tinge issues.
How long the replacement process (back and forth) usually takes ?
This is important because I'm doing my job with it.
Many thanks.

My advice is to see if they'll organise an "advanced replacement" where by you keep your current iMac until the replacement is received. Once you have the replacement in place, checked it for issues and transferred all your data you can then arrange, via Apple, for the old iMac to be collected and returned. This is how I have done my last two replacements with no resistance from Apple in the slightest.

Thank you for the advice.
Does Apple usually examine the faulted iMac in its labs prior despatching the new one ?
Mine has already reached Apple Ireland but I haven't received the shipping notification yet for the new iMac.

As far as I know, in this particular way of doing replacements, all they are interested in is the receipt of the faulty iMac. Once the faulty unit has been received the order for your replacement will go into the system. Depends on your configuration as to how long it will take but fortunately the despatch times are now at their historical lowest.

This morning Applecare announced they will send me an RMA (not received yet) for collection of my faulty iMac 27" i5 later this week, two hours after that I received tracking information for the replacement programmed to be delivered tomorrow...
Obviously they have different policies depending where you are (I'm in France).

What week was your iMac?

Apple claims to have fixed the yellowing problem a couple of weeks ago. Is yours older than that?
It was a week 8 and had a perfect screen, no yellow and no dead or stuck pixels, too bad I had to send it back but it has a hardware failure. The screen did not come on after waking from sleep.

Mine was a week 2 (2010) 27'' with slight yellow tinge on the first 1/3 lower part of the screen. Hope they will send me an early product in order to avoid yellow issue.
