Yellow spots after 4 months of use

Hi, I have this line of yellow spots at on side of the ipad (oposite to the volume buttons, pics below ) I suspect they appeared because fo heat, that area feels hotter than the rest some times. I'm taking it for a replacement, but I wanted to make a thread to learn how to avoid it if I did something wrong.

- I'm using it for drawing, mostly Clip studio. 3, 4 hours at a time.
- I did read all the possible heat issues in the apple web and I didn't ever get any high temperature alert or the symptoms mentioned there ( slow performance, dimmer screen )
- I dont like to use it when its plugged, so I almost always just take a break when the battery is low (Though it says its ok to use while plugged)
- I'm using a leather case
- I'm using it sligtly inclinated, that's the lower part
- That area feels just a bit hotter, nothing really uncomfortable

-The spots dissapear after the screen is off for a while. and they appear again after a few minutes its on, getting stronger as time passes


So... is there anything I'm doing wrong or its just bad luck?

I’ve not seen that before and it definitely is not right. Is it on every screen, I mean not a particular app but system wide? If so and Regardless how you use it this should not be happening. Its clearly defective and should be a straightforward swap at Apple store. iPads can get warm under load but the display shouldn’t be discoloured as a result.

yes, all the apps and always in the same place, its deffinitively a hardware issue. so I'm the lucky winner of an unique flaw.. cool

lol. It does seem unique. Yellow spots/patches are new to me BUT it’s also concerning that the 2018 IPP has developed an issue which may or not be similar to the ongoing bright spot issue of the 2917 iPP. I’m sorry this has happened to you but ‘respectfully, I hope your flaw is indeed unique & a one off 😉

I hope its unique too so the replacement doesnt have this problem!

Update:

-the area at the back of the spots smells like burnt electronics
- I lowered the brightness and it doesnt feel hot anymore, I still see the faint spots. I'm taking it next week for a replacement ( I'm in Argentina and I can't take it directly to apple, the vendor needs 48 hours to check its actually a factory problem)

I'd say its a design flaw: The high bright of the screen + a heavy dutty app (Clip studio) made that area oveheat, maybe its the battery, and it burnt something of the screen without making any of the high tempereature counter-measures work (maybe the temperature sensor isn't close to this part of the Ipad)
