Hi.

I was going to keep this iMac, but, I have been trying some things, and well, with black and white wallpaper, the yellow tint is clearly visible.

Other thing that also worries me is that if you look from different angles, the yellow tint disappears.

I have been wondering an iMac for a long time. Now, this is my second unit, and I am really disappointed and pissed off.

I agree with what others have said: if *you* don't like it, return it, hopefully get something that is better, and enjoy. As I've posted elsewhere, for me this means going to the retail store and unboxing it there and not doing BTO via mail. Yeah, color may shift...but you know it's always really there... Good luck!

That's just the glow IPS panels get when viewed from extreme angles.

When people mention yellowing, they mean from dead on.

Been there, done that.......

I would stop looking for the issue and just use the machine. If you really cannot ignore it, and it bothers you, then send it back.

IMO, the chance of getting a perfect display is slim.

You also may run into issues returning this iMac and getting another one. On my 2nd BTO return I was told that I could swap out the display, or return it for a refund. They would not send me another new unit. On my 2nd (in store) return, Apple attempted to charge me a 10% restocking fee. They would not exchange it for another one because they said the display issues are normal. They then also claimed that I was returning an open item because I did not want it, not because it was faulty.

Damn it! You are more than right.

In fact, I have been using it thw hole week whitout seeing any problems.

Is now, when I started test when I see it. So, I will try to follow your example.

Thanks.

I have not looked for the problem, and I have not seen it! In casual daily use, the iMac is perfect. Both my wife and daughter, who use the machine, have not seen a problem either. I am reasonable sure I can find an imperfection, if I really look for it, because nothing is perfect. But then what? Then what is Russian roulette with the new machine...
